Welcome to the Academy for Expiring Scientists! This is a really fun building I designed for the Bricklink Designer Program, which gives LEGO fans an opportunity to get their custom models put into production. If you like it, you can head over to bricklink.com to give it a vote during the current crowd support phase. There is absolutely no obligation at the moment, as they are currently just seeking feedback on which designs to give a closer look.
In addition to the Particle Accelerator, my Pursuit of Flight LEGO Ideas project was also invited to be part of the Bricklink Design Program.
Again, I’ll be posting more details of the model once the crowdfunding begins, but in the meantime, you can watch the designer style video I created to get a look at the updated model design.
Crowdfunding begins on July 1st, and you’ll be able to pre-order a copy of the set on the Pursuit of Flight project page.
A few months ago, the Bricklink Designer Program was announced, inviting a number of rejected LEGO Ideas projects to go through a round of crowdfunding to be produced as limited edition sets. My Particle Accelerator was lucky enough to be one of the projects invited to participate.
I’ll be making another post and video going into more detail about the updated model, but in the lead up to the crowdfunding I made a short designer style video showing the new design.
