A 1:3250 scale LEGO model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, as featured in Star Trek:The Next Generation.
A custom LEGO model of a Droideka (Destroyer Droid), as seen in Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
This model was inspired by some Bionicle Bohrok sets I recently picked up. Shortly after putting them together I figured I could probably make a decent destroyer droid from the pieces. The finished model can transform into reasonably round wheel form.
A custom LEGO model of the Droid Starfighter, as seen in Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
This model posed some unique construction challenges given its ability to transform between starfighter and walker configurations. After trying some more complicated designs I settled on the current one, which is actually quite simple and results in a stable model in any of the configurations.
As an added bonus the transformations between split wing fighter, closed wing fighter and walker can all be done quickly and easily without removing and reattaching any pieces.
A LEGO model of the Hyperspace Transport Ring, as seen in Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones. The transport ring is used by the Jedi Starfighter and other small ships to achieve hyperspace travel capabilities.
This model was designed specifically to fit the official LEGO Jedi Starfighter model (Set #7143) and stands freely with or without the Starfighter docked.
Note that the click hinges used to form the ring were remolded by The LEGO Group a couple of years after I designed this model. They are not as strong as they originally were and I don’t think the model maintains its shape as well with the new parts as it did with the original.
